History of Silca System
One day, Bart Stuchell, VP of Sare Plastics, got a call from a friend asking him to stop by their house. Bart did. The friend took Bart to see a deck that had a stone sidewalk built in the center. While looking at it, the friend noted that “You [Bart] need to invent something to make this type of project a whole lot easier!” Bart, known for his knowledge of the building industry, creativity, and inventions, began to think it over. A few months later, while at the NPE show in Chicago (an international plastics showcase,) Bart saw a product designed to support molds on a concrete floor and got an idea. He was well on his way to designing the decking products that would become known as the Silca System and Silca Grate.
From concept to reality, it took about six months to design Silca System. Silca System was envisioned as a brand new product that would allow customers to use high quality natural stone and stone pavers on their outside deck. More than that, this new product would make the decking installation downright easy.
Decks are beautiful additions to a family home. Too many homeowners complain about the amount of upkeep their wooden decking requires. Not to mention the risk of splinters and decay. A stone deck solves many of the problems of traditional wooden decks, and Bart knew it. He knew that if there were a well-designed product to build stone decks, customers would use it to beautify their outdoor living space. The rest is history.
In 2007, the product made its debut. Since then, Silca System has been used in the installation of many new stone decks, and the restoration of old decks with stone pavers, and a variety of other, unforeseen applications! Silca System keeps providing families with a better way to build their own gorgeous outdoor stone deck, including Bart’s very own backyard deck.
